In 1975, the founders acquired Rand London Mines. From there on, the consortium began to operate the company that we now know as Metorex.
In July of 2011, Metorex announced Jinchuan’s intention to make an offer for the entire issued share capital of Metorex, culminating in Metorex becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of the Jinchuan Group in January 2012.
Following the acquisition, the Metorex shares ceased trading on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
In November 2013 Jinchuan successfully incorporated Metorex into Jinchuan Group International Resources Co Ltd, a Jinchuan subsidiary listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
